The Envirostore Grit Bin Bunker provides sturdy and waterproof storage for your grit salt. The grit box’s bright yellow colour makes it easily visible on dark winter days. This also makes it ideal as an alternatively coal bin store.
A convenient winter maintenance solution for both commercial and domestic environments, these grit boxes are also available with bottom opening doors. Castors can be fitted if the grit box needs to be moved regularly (increasing the height by approx. 60mm).
This product can either be collected from our office in Cheadle, Staffordshire or we can deliver at the same time as your fuel delivery.

Our mini tanker can fit through narrow gates and access roads. If your access is less than 2.5m wide, please select this option at checkout or when ordering over the phone. Let us know if there is any other access information of which we should be aware.
Standard delivery service assumes access to your fuel tank is within 60m of where the delivery tanker will park. We can accommodate deliveries to fuel tanks further than 60m away for an additional fee. Please select this option at checkout or when ordering over the phone.

If kept dry, grit salt has an indefinite shelf life. Storing it securely in an appropriate weatherproof grit box will prevent it from becoming exposed to any dampness.
You should spread your grit shortly before any frost, ice or snow is forecast. You should also plan to use it when areas are expected to be wet and the temperatures will reach freezing. The night before ice or snow is forecast is usually the best time.
Grit salt won’t work as well once there is already snow or ice on the ground. If you haven’t put any grit down beforehand, you should aim to clear as much of the ground as possible before spreading any grit.
